Special Projects

Girls Ministries has a passion for missions giving. Annual projects are chosen to give girls an opportunity to fulfill the Great Commission - spreading the Gospel.

Our missions giving takes place in 3 basic areas and this year we have added one more:

  • Miss EQUIP
  • Coins for Kids
  • Hands-On Project

MISS EQUIP

Miss EQUIP stands for Every Quarter Uniting Important People.

Each year a new Miss EQUIP project is selected by Ohio Girls Ministries. The total Miss EQUIP giving is divided, and 40% goes to the primary project for that year, leaving the rest for other projects and operational costs.

Each club is encouraged to participate by giving one quarter each week for 52 weeks, which makes for $13 per year per girl or sponsor. They can keep track of their giving on posters themed for the yearly project.

To encourage this project our church holds a Miss Equip Offering Contest. Each club keeps records of total giving from October to April. The child with the most giving in each club wins a trophy and a small prize. The top three givers from all the clubs gets to pie the Girls Ministries Coordinator in the face!

2012 Miss EQUIP Project is Mpacting Germany

Richard and Minna Boettiger have had exciting opportunity of minister to the youth of Germany. Through Minna’s involvement in her daughters’ school activities, God opened an exciting door of ministry to work with children of all denominations in the local Lutheran church. The minisry, Kids 4 Jesus, a place where children practice choreography to Christian music, devotionals and teachings about the power of the Holy Spirit at work in their lives, has developed into an outreach ministry.

Through our giving this year we will Mpact the ministry of the Boettiger’s by providing training materials, curriculum and help with an outreach center.

2012 Coins for Kids Project

Place of Joy Cooking Centers
South Africa

The National Girls Ministries Department has selected the Place of Joy Cooking Centers, South Africa as our Coins for Kids project this year.

Missionaries Earl and Laura Goodrich are building Entokozweni Children's Resource Centers in South Africa to help children who are affected by or infected with HIV/AIDS. These resource centers are to be the hands of Christ reaching out to hurting children.

This speical offering is collected at the National Sleepover that we have in October.
