In 1933 Rev. George Samuelson began street meetings in Miamisburg. As a result of these meetings a little mission was birthed that later closed in 1945.
In 1956 Rev. John Taylor, who had co-pastored the earlier mission with Rev. Ernest Bauer, returned to Miamisburg and began having prayer meetings in various homes. The congregation worshipped in a rented building on Linden Ave. until 1962 when the Sixth Street property was purchased.
Rev. Huff became the pastor in 1965. Under his ministry much of the church basement was remodeled. Most of this coming through the labor of Rev. Huff himself.
In 1969 Rev Huff felt led of the Holy Spirit to talk to John Swint, about becoming the pastor of the church. John and his family had attended since 1964. John Swint became the new pastor of Miamisburg Assembly of God Labor Day weekend, 1969.
Over many years, Pastor Swint and his wife Alice have watched the attendance grow from six people to over 450. Under his leadership and with God's help, the church has progressed into a solid body that is alive in Jesus Christ.
As the church transformed from a dying church to a thriving church, the need for assistance was apparent. The Lord has led many people to serve as staff members in this church, all of whom have been an integral part of where we are and where we are going.
The church has gone through several building projects to include both building expansions and new construction. The Family Life Center construction was completed in 1993 and the construction of our newest facility was completed in 2002.
This facility houses a 1,000 seat sanctuary, nursery complex, preschool complex, music complex and a full basement with administrative wing, children's ministry wing, and adult ministry wing. We give glory to God for where we started, where we are right now, and where He is taking us!
